This module looks at what is meant by stress and considers some of the stressors and challenges that you may encounter throughout your university career. Throughout the module, explore how to develop positive stress management strategies and build a support network that can empower you and contribute to a sense of belonging.
This part of the course helps you to better understand some of the signs of anxiety and depression. This module unpacks unhelpful coping strategies and then prompts you to reflect on how you can develop better strategies and identify when and how to seek help from others (both trusted people in your life and professionals).
In this module, you explore the negative cycles that can lead to self-harming behaviours. The module offers some strategies you can add to your own wellbeing toolkit to manage distress and reduce the risk of self-harming.
This module recognises that suicidal thoughts are more common than you may think, examining the risk of these thoughts turning into action and the importance of speaking to a health professional or support service if you or someone you know is experiencing this. The module also asks you to reflect on how you can be part of building a more compassionate and safe campus environment.
