To ensure that we create the most effective content to help you progress in your professional development, we have worked with Advance HE as consultants for this programme. Throughout the development of this programme they have conducted thorough reviews, provided expert guidance to ensure best practices and have approved our resources as accurately aligned with Descriptor 1 of the Professional Standards Framework (PSF).
Throughout every module you will find 'Portfolio' pods. These pods contain additional activities that provide opportunities for self-reflection and can be used to build your evidence base aligned to PSF Descriptor 1. By completing the tasks and activities as you progress through the modules, you will be creating a 'Portfolio' of evidence which you can use for your own professional development, such as for your submission for HEA Associate Fellowship.
Each activity has been reviewed and aligned to specific dimensions of the PSF Descriptor 1, so you can clearly identify what dimensions each activity can be used as evidence for.
To help support you in the process of completing your application for HEA Associate Fellowship, we have provided a participant guide for download at the start of each module.
This guide contains information on how this course can help you prepare for your application, how your application should be structured, and how to submit your completed application for approval.
In this module, you will have opportunities to build your evidence base aligned to PSF Descriptor 1. You will begin to explore the ways engaging and effective learning sessions can be planned (A1) to support students' acquisition of knowledge and development of skills (K1, K2). In doing so, you will be prompted to consider student motivation and their expectations as learners and to use both of these as you construct appropriate learning outcomes (V1, V2).
By connecting your learning from this module with your own experiences of session planning, and then using this learning to evaluate the success of the sessions post-delivery, you will be able to build your evidence base of effective practice (A1, A2, K1, K2, K5).
